Foreign Missions Challenged To Market Zambia’s Mineral Wealth

The Mine Workers Union of Zambia -MUZ -has called on Zambian embassies to market the country’s mineral wealth and persuade potential investors to forge business partnerships with local investors in the wake of the rising global demand for critical minerals.

Speaking when a delegation of MUZ officials paid a courtesy call on Zambia’s Ambassador to Egypt TOPPLY LUBAYA, MUZ President JOSEPH CHEWE said Zambian embassies must optimise the economic diplomacy introduced by government and leverage the country’s mineral fortunes.

Mr. CHEWE said Zambia has a unique mining environment with potential to attract more investment and that MUZ stands ready to support any collaborative efforts by the government, private sector, and labour unions.

And Major General LUBAYA has commended the Mineworkers Union of Zambia’s idea to invest in mining explorations and become the main player in the country’s mineral wealth.

General LUBAYA said the idea by MUZ to own a mine through a joint venture with an Egyptian union was progressive as it will promote sustainable job creation and spur economic growth for the two countries.
