ZICTA DONATES COMPUTERS TO SCHOOLS ACROSS THE COUNTRY

The Zambia Information and Communication Technology Authority (ZICTA) have donated computers to more than five hundred schools in the country to promote information and Communication technology (ICT) leaning.

Speaking when board chairperson Frighton Sichone paid a courtesy call on acting eastern Province Permanent Secretary Josphat Lombe today,Ms sichone  says that the authority donated some computers to learning institutions to ease the burden of the ministry of general education in terms of them providing such facilities and equipment to schools .

Mr. Frighton says that if ICT can be made compulsory in schools there will be a better generation in the years to come, stating that one of the programs that ZICTA has embarked on is connecting learning institutions with computers.

He further says that they have donated computers in some selected schools in Eastern province and other provinces around the country.

He narrated that his visit in the province is to check the schools and see how the program is running and that if there are challenges being faced and see how they can escalate some of the report they are getting on the ground.

Meanwhile acting permanent secretary Josphat Lombe has expressed gratitude that eastern province is among the provinces that have benefited from ZICTA and the project.
